Gillingham’s creative lynchpin has played his last game in Gills colours.
Bradley Dack agreed a three-year deal with fellow League One side Blackburn Rovers today, with the Gills set to receive an initial £750,000, with undisclosed add-ons related to performance and appearances.
At his best, Dack was a driving force at the head of the Gills’ midfield, operating just behind the front men. A creative player, Dack’s eye for the spectacular saw him become a fan favourite at Priestfield, scoring 38 goals in 185 games for the club.
The club waved away a £2million offer from Bristol City last summer, hoping the midfielder would reproduce the form of the 2015/16 season that saw him named League 1 Player of the Year.
But Dack struggled to replicate his heroics of the previous campaign as he scored just six times, compared to his tally of 15 in 2015/16.
And with just one year remaining on his contract, the club opted to accept Rovers’ offer, giving Dack the opportunity to ply his trade for the former Premier League champions, who’ll line up against the Gills this season following their relegation from the Championship last season.
