Gillingham’s summer clearout continues with the departure of transfer-listed midfielder Billy Knott.
The former Bradford City man was made available for transfer by the club this summer after loaning him out to Lincoln City at the back end of last season.
His performances for the Red Imps did enough to convince the club to offer him a one-year deal and he joins the side as they make their return to the Football League following their National League championship-winning campaign last season.
Knott – who made 24 appearances for the Gills, scoring once – played his part in helping Lincoln secure their National League title, scoring the winner against Bromley to propel the Red Imps to the top of the table at a crucial point in their run-in.
Now he joins Lincoln after agreeing a one-year deal with the club following his agreed release by the Gills.
