Turbulent week casts unwanted shadow ahead of Oxford trip

Gillingham head into the weekend still looking for their first league win, and now they’re doing it with the shadow of controversy hanging over the club

Gillingham’s winless league campaign rolls on to Oxford as the Gills look to pick up the first victory of their campaign at the Kassam Stadium.

United have made a solid start to the season and currently sit in eighth place in the division after two wins, two draws and just one loss from their first five league games.

That record contrasts with Gillingham’s record of two draws and three defeats from their opening five outings of the year.
