Former Gill Bradley Dack wins EFL League 1 Player of the Season

Ex-Gills playmaker scoops League 1 Player of the Year honours at the 2018 EFL Awards

Former Gills playmaker Bradley Dack was celebrating last night when he was announced as the Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Year.

Dack’s accolade was unveiled at Sunday night’s EFL Awards ceremony in London.

Blackburn star Dack captured the League 1 award, with Fulham’s Ryan Sessengnon and Accrington Stanley’s Billy Kee claiming the Championship and League 2 equivalents respectively.

Dack joined Blackburn in June last year for an initial fee of £750,000 and, after shaking off some early injury issues, became a mainstay in the Lancashire side.

His performances for Rovers have seen Dack net an impressive 16 goals from 36 appearances in League 1 as he’s helped fire Blackburn to within just a few games of promotion to the Championship.

“I’m absolutely delighted,” said Dack after being presented with his award.

“It is a huge honour to win this award, but I couldn’t have done it without all the staff, the players and generally everybody at the club.

“I think I struggled a little at the start with a few niggling injuries, but since I’ve got onto the pitch regularly again I’ve felt good and the team has performed really well.

“We’ve found a bit of form, both myself and the team, and it took off from there.”

To celebrate Bradley’s success, and by way of a little nostalgia, here’s a little look back at five of his best strikes while he was a proud Gill.
