Gillingham’s off-season business continued with the news that speedy wingback Bradley Garmston and midfielder Navid Nasseri have both committed themselves to the club.

Garmston has dealt with his fair share of injuries since arriving at the club from West Bromwich Albion, but his performances when fit have given the side an added dimension down the left hand side.

The pacy wide man has agreed a two-year deal to remain at Priestfield, and said he was pleased to extend his stay at the Gills and hit the ground running at the start of the 2018/19 season.

“Since the conclusion of the season I was very keen to extend my stay,” he told the club’s official website.

“I’ve had some great times and I wanted it to continue and I think being here is key for my development.

“I like to keep on top of my fitness and it’s important, having had issues in the past, to come back in good shape in pre-season.”

Also re-signing with the club is midfielder Nasseri, who has inked a one-year contract extension with the club that will take him to the end of next season.

The former Manchester United Academy product made some promising appearances for the club last season and, speaking to the official GFC website, made clear his aim to become a first-team regular under Steve Lovell next season.

“Fans only got a glimpse of me last season, hopefully I’ll get 30 games plus next year and I’m just raring to go,” he declared.

“I’m pleased to get this over the line, I thought I played well in the games I did play last season and I’m just looking to get sharp for pre-season now.”

Garmston and Nasseri join Elliott List, Gabriel Zakuani and Noel Mbo as players who have extended their stay ahead of the coming season, with new signings Dean Parrett and Regan Charles-Cook also arriving at the club this week.
